Frequently Asked Questions

Most GLP-1 medications are injected once weekly. This includes semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound). Rybelsus is a daily oral tablet.

Dose titration means starting at a low dose and gradually increasing over several weeks. This helps your body adjust to the medication and minimizes side effects. Most GLP-1 medications have a 4-8 week escalation schedule.

GLP-1 injections are given subcutaneously (under the skin) in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites each week to reduce irritation.

If you miss a weekly injection and it has been fewer than 5 days, take it as soon as possible. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next one on your regular schedule.

Unused pens should be refrigerated at 36-46°F (2-8°C). Once in use, most GLP-1 pens can be stored at room temperature (up to 86°F/30°C) for up to 56 days. Never freeze the medication.
